Our electives programme

At Dixons Brooklands Academy, we are proud to offer a rich and varied electives programme for students in Year 7 to Year 9, designed to broaden their experiences beyond the traditional curriculum. Each student selects one elective per cycle, with three cycles running across the academic year. This model allows students to explore a range of interests and discover new talents throughout the year.

Our electives provide opportunities for creative expression, physical activity, personal development, and academic enrichment. Options include activities such as:

British Sign Language.
Computing and programming.
Outdoor education.
Book clubs.
Film clubs.
Junior sports leadership.
Design-based projects such as textiles or 3D technology.

These sessions are carefully designed to foster curiosity, build confidence, and help students develop valuable skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
