Our house system

Our house system is a key part of life at Dixons Brooklands Academy, designed to build a strong sense of community, teamwork, and pride across the school. Every student belongs to one of our four houses: Valour, Spirit, Aspiration, and Rigor. These houses reflect the values we aim to develop in all our students, courage, determination, ambition, and resilience.

Throughout the year, students take part in a wide range of house events and competitions, earning points for their house and working towards our overall house cup. Events range from sports and academic challenges to creative and charitable activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to get involved in. Students also receive individual house points and appreciations for demonstrating our school values and making positive contributions to the school community.

House systems exist to promote collaboration, healthy competition, and a sense of belonging. Our house system helps students form strong connections across year groups, develop leadership skills, and take pride in representing something bigger than themselves.
