Partnership with the Manchester United Foundation

Manchester United Foundation Partnership

We are proud to work in partnership with Manchester United Foundation to provide our students with a range of exciting opportunities that enhance both their education and personal development.

Through this partnership, Foundation staff work alongside our school to deliver innovative programmes that support students in developing essential life skills, improving wellbeing and raising aspirations. Our partnership is led within school by Sean Meehan and Mark Brent, who work closely with Manchester United Foundation to provide students with enriching experiences both in and beyond the classroom. These opportunities help students build confidence, resilience, leadership and teamwork through the power of sport.

Our partnership focuses on:

  • health and wellbeing: supporting students' physical and mental wellbeing through engaging activities that encourage healthy lifestyles and positive choices.

  • personal development and leadership: delivering targeted interventions and leadership programmes that help students develop confidence, communication, resilience and employability skills.

  • mentoring: selected students receive additional mentoring and support to help them achieve their personal and academic goals while preparing for future education and employment.

  • transition support: working with local primary schools and Year 6 pupils to help ensure a positive transition into secondary education.

  • extra-curricular opportunities: students can take part in a variety of enrichment activities delivered through the partnership, including our popular Thursday Darts Club. These sessions provide a fun and inclusive environment where students develop concentration, teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence.

  • trips and experiences: students benefit from a range of exciting trips and experiences throughout the year, giving them opportunities to visit Manchester United, attend special Foundation events and take part in activities that broaden their horizons, inspire ambition and create lasting memories.

  • rewards and recognition: students have opportunities to participate earn rewards and prizes, and enjoy unique experiences linked to Manchester United Foundation, recognising those who consistently demonstrate our school values and commitment.

Our partnership with Manchester United Foundation has a positive impact across our school community, providing students with memorable experiences while equipping them with the confidence, skills and aspirations to succeed both in school and beyond.
